Where did you find this book?

We were visiting my papa last month and he told us there was a trunk full of books in the upstairs bedroom. My dad opened the trunk for us, pulled out so many books, and separated them into piles. Papa said we could take home whatever we liked. I was so excited to bring home some of the books my dad read when he was a boy, including this one. It has quickly become one of my favorites!

What did you like the most about this book?

I like that the boy’s name is “Chester Filbert.” It makes me laugh from the very first page. The pictures are fun to look at, too!

What would you tell your best friend about this book?

On every page, something is happening! There are numbers that you can count, a mama cat and her kittens marching by, a fire truck, policeman, and so much more you’ll have to see. The best part is Chester just sits on the curb complaining of being bored and missing everything going on around him! Hilarious!

Why do you think another kid should read this book?

If you like to find all the little details in books, then you’ll enjoy this one.

Any additional comments:

This book was written eight years before my dad was born! Even though it’s an old book, it’s still a great story and fun to read. Oh! And the author also illustrated the book.
